We are all attached to our photos to some extent and it’s often hard to take a step back and look at our work objectively. If you’ve ever had to select images for your portfolio, photography contest submissions or blog posts, you’ll know exactly what I mean. One way to overcome this is to seek out unbiased feedback from photographers you trust and whose work resonates with you. If you’re here because I fit that description, thank you!
I have been a photographer since 2000, collegiate photographer and photo editor between 2002 and 2006, press photographer until 2008 and wedding photographer since 2011. I am also a 2018 graduate of the Foundation Workshops.
Over the years, I’ve also had the opportunity to judge some of the best wedding photography competitions in the world: ISPWP & Fearless. In Romania, I am currently part of the editors’ team of fotografi-cameramani.ro and I spoke at the Weddingstaff and Weddcamp conferences.
I don’t think awards should be the end-game in photography, but if it’s something you care about, I have some:
− 2019 This is Reportage Top 100 Wedding Photographers
− 2018 ISPWP Top 100 Wedding Photographers in the World
− 2018 WPJA TOP 100 International Wedding Photographers
− 2016 ISPWP Top 100 Wedding Photographers in the World
− 2016 SLR Lounge 150 Best International Wedding Photographers
− 2015 Top 50 Fearless Photographers
and here you can read about my direct experience in judging awards.
I’ve always put high value on my education and professional development and the 3 years I spent as a trainer gave me a solid understanding of how to identify educational needs, set objectives and deliver results. I am currently offering a limited number of online critique sessions. We will discuss ahead of time what you expect to get from our time together. We can focus on individual photo review, website or wedding critique, image selection, how to refine your style, shoot cleaner images or better capture moments and we will talk ahead of time to set the agenda.
